HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS

HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS
Abraham had three guests. They seem a regulat set of visitors because immediately he saw them he knew this class of visitors deserve the best of his resources and with speed ordered his household to present their best. (Gen. 18)

Also, Abraham's response indicated that he had received this sort of before now because he recognised.them immediately. The Bible says Abraham bowed in worshop.

The WORD of God later recommended that we should offer hospitality to all men because so Abraham entertained angels.

Sodom and Gomorrah had guests in their midst. They looked like ordinary men; like the usually guests they were used to receiving in their City.and they attempt to treat again, this set of.visitors; the way they treated others before them.

But in this case , this class of guests will determine if their existence  on The Earth would continue or not; it will determine if their City would become desolate.

They treated the guests, the way they normally treats other guest: maltreated them, .and made an attempt to rape them .  Unfortunately, these set of  guests were not the usually guest, they were there to verify a report  about the way of living of the City of Sodom and Gomorrah.

In the day of their most important test, Sodom and Gomorrah failed the test and they were destroyed.
Lot on the other hand was in the same City and exposed to the same set of guests.

This day of visitation met Lot doing why he usually did; entertain his guests. On the most important day of his life, he continued to behave the way he would usually act..  ( Gen. 18)

The day of testing always comes uninvited, may we be ready.

The Children of Benjamin had been maltreating strangers.who slept at the City square. The law of Moses dictated that any stranger going through a town should stay. at the City square indicating he needed a place to rest his head and this particular stranger obeyed. (Judges 19)

But instead of helping him by inviting him into their home, they demanded he came out so that they may have sex with him. God had overlooked their past actions but today was a day of Reckoning.for them and they did not know it.  Eventually, they slept with the concubine of the Levite passing through their town and killed her in the process. Their tribe was almost wiped off because of this singlary action.

Again, the way, they had trained themselves to relate with strangers, determined their fate.

Our LORD Jesus.Christ visited the home of Lazarus.and his two.sistrrs. Martha did what she probably did to all guest: cook her best meal. It seem her love language was deed of service but the love language of the  Guest; Jesus Christ, the KING-  who visited her home is attention and obedience.

He demonstrated his love language is attention when he was in the house of Simeon, though Simeon prepared the best meal for Him, Jesus Christ,  The KING, appreciated the woman who lavished on Him the best of her attention. She poured one year worth of wage on Him, wiped.his.feet with the best of her dignity- her head. She wiped the.feet of The KING with her hair and forgotten all about reputation. She put to death, her self conscuouness and poured her love on her .King.

Again, the book of Genesis 3 says God visited Adam in the cool of the evening but Adam and Eve had no time for God; their Father.

Sincere attention is one of God's love languages. He created man for fellowship.
While the LORD prayer emphasised the inseparable merge of God's will in Heaven been done on Earth, the benediction was.concluded this:
The Grace of Our LORD Jesus Christ; The Love of God and THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SPIRIT.

Fellowship involves Communion, it involves giving attention to another person.

Abraham gave attention to The LORD who visited Him and he received the fulfilment of the promise which was intially delayed. He was promised a son through Sarah' s womb but the day he entertained The LORD, the fulfillment of the promise was.guven a specific date of fulfillment.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
