JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY NUMBER ONE
Life is such that everyone is running to a designated destination; some known while others unknown. The destination is known to those who have specific visions and goals on how to get to their specific destinations while It s unknown to those who live life by chance.It is said that it is a rat race in the world because everyone compete to become the 'Number One' even to the peril of others. It is a life of stiff competition, you run to outwit others by all means and ultimately bring them under your control.
DEFINITION OF RAT RACE
IMPORTANT QUESTION
Is it a sin to compete in a race?
ANSWER
No, Apostle Paul advocates you should run to win a prize because it is only those who reach the finish race that win the prize.
Every believer in Christ is called into a specific assignment in the Kingdom of God and given specific gifts for their calling. Paul spoke about this extensively in 1 Corinthians 3:1-23 when he wrote about a comparison about the ministry of Apollo and his own ministry.
" What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 4:
QUESTION
Is it wrong to try to out-do other believers especially the kind of stiff competition among Ministers of the Gospel? Ministers try to become the Number One among their equals?
ANSWER
It is wrong because we have only ONE which is our NUMBER ONE in all things. The WORD of God says " Looking into Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our Faith.
Each believer is given spiritual gifts and each anointings to carry out the BUSINESS OF THE KINGDOM. The assignment of each believer differs just as the calling of each Church denomination is different.
Christ Life Church may be called to emphasis the Blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ; Living Faith anointed to emphasis Faith in the Name of Jesus Christ and accessing your blessings by working for the Kingdom.
Mountain of Fire on the other hand may emphasis the deliverances that the Name of Jesus Christ brings to a believer; RCCG may emphasis the important of accessing God's blessings through a walk of holiness, Deeper Life on the other hand may emphasis Jesus Christ, the Sanctifier.
God gave Daddy Gbile Akanni to emphasis the need for the crucifixion of the flesh and a life of self denial; Christ Embassy may emphasis that Jesus Christ has done it all, and you don't have to do anything to access the blessings of God "just believe';
CAC may emphasis the importance of prayers and they follow the tenets of prayer given by respected and treasured Apostle Ayodele Babalola, The Catholics may emphasis the important role virgin Mary played in the birth of the Saviour of the World and so many others emphasising one part of Jesus Christ works and life.
But all these different branches of ministry in the Kingdom are as Apostle Paul and Apollos,, Paul said :
"Are you not acting like mere humans? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings? What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other. For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? 1 Cor. 4:6-7
SPIRITUAL NUGGET
We are all members of ONE BODY, the Body of our LORD Jesus Christ and it is Jesus Christ that is our NUMBER ONE.
We all should preach the following:
Jesus Christ: Our RIGHTEOUSNESS
Jesus Christ: The Author and Finisher of our Faith
Jesus Christ: The Deliverer
Jesus Christ: The sacrificial Lamb which Blood made believers holy
Jesus Christ: Our Emmanuel ( God in human flesh) who destroyed the body and nature of sin
Jesus Christ: The LORD and the Sanctifier
Jesus Christ: The Grace and Giver ofGrace
Jesus Christ:, The key to receiving from the Father.
We should preach the whole Message of the Gospel but God only gives the Pioneer of each specific revelations an anointing to become the leader in the area of its Revelation and emphasis.
There is no singlular Man of God can house the Anointing of The Holy Spirit without measure like our LORD Jesus Christ did. No Church denomination can contain the full measure of the Holy Spirit. If it was possible, then that Man of God and his denomination becomes THE Church of Jesus Christ and the Man of God becomes THE Christ.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said in Matt 24 that many will rise and claim :
" And Jesus answering said to them, See that no one mislead you. For many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am the Christ, and they shall mislead many. The title of The CHRIST belongs only to our Master Jesus Christ forever and forever. May His number be praised and glorified in all Nations forever.
We are all member of One Body: The Body of Jesus Christ. Therefore we should respect, honour and embrace the Anointings that God has given to Angelican, The Sword of The Spirit Ministries, Winners Chapel, RCCG, Dunamics, The Salvation Church, Christ Holiness Church, Mountain of Fire, Methodist Church, Christ Embassy, Fountain of Life, Agape Christian Ministries and so many others raised by Jesus Christ, The Master and our Leader.
God gave these beautiful father of faith and representatives of the Kingdom the revelations and anointings to build up His Church until we attain the full measure of Christ.
Each Gifts of the Kingdom should recognise their callings, emphasis their revelations, embrace and accepts their contemporary and brother's revelation therein the WHOLE BODY OF CHRIST IS UNITED AND BUILT UP.
We conclude with: 1 Cor. 12:4-7
"But there are distinctions of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are distinctions of services, and the same Lord; and there are distinctions of operations, but the same God who operates all things in all. But to each the manifestation of the Spirit is given for profit. For to one, by the Spirit, is given.... ( Darby' New Translation)
